From time-to-time families and children may face challenging or unexpected events, incidents and changes. Thankfully these are rare. But knowing how to talk to your child about such events in an age-appropriate way can be helpful for them, and you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>G8 Education has drawn on the expertise of child psychology and early childhood education professionals to develop a suite of resources families might find helpful when they need it most. Here you will find information and tips that can help you talk to children about unexpected events, and also services that can provide more support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can help children to navigate challenging events in their lives by ensuring they feel supported, both by their families and their educators. If you or your child are going through a difficult time, talk to your centre manager and educators about how we can work together and support you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To develop, grow and thrive, every child needs to feel safe, nurtured and secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Growing up in an environment where there is family violence can have a profound impact on a child\u2019s mental health and well-being. Other than the danger of experiencing physical harm, children raised in a family home where there is violence can have a higher risk of developmental, behavioural, emotional, social, and educational difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What help is available?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you or someone you know if experiencing family violence, it is important to seek help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Safety is the priority. In an emergency, call 000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many services offer support for people experiencing family violence, including psychological and counselling support, legal advice and emergency accommodation and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to learn about your options.
