Centre Manager - Possums Early Education Centre
“I believe that strong nurturing relationships both with children and their families are the key to fostering learning and development.”
I began my career in early childhood education and care in 1998. I completed my Diploma of Children’s Services, Diploma of Leadership and Management and a Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching. I started working at Possums Early Learning Services in October 2006.
I have experienced many aspects of Early Childhood Education from working with babies and toddlers to running a Preschool Room. It is very rewarding to see these children grow and flourish within your care and to know that these children are supported through their early years to make a smooth transition towards their formative schooling. I particularly enjoy getting to know our families’ and forming strong and collaborative partnerships. I believe that strong nurturing relationships both with children and their families are the key to fostering learning and development.
There are many benefits of attending a dedicated early childhood education and care setting, the support and guidance your child with receive from qualified and dedicated educators. Your child will be supported through their early years to develop their confidence and competence in social, emotional, language, physical and cognitive skills.
Educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework which supports their planning and programming for each child. You will receive information daily via our parent communication app. Educators will use information gained by families as well as observations to support the individual needs and interests of the child and complete 6 monthly summative assessments.
We have a long serving dedicated and passionate team who are committed to providing a high standard of Early Education and Care. The educators are friendly and engaging and enjoy sharing their strengths such as cooking, craft, and sports with the children. The best part of my job is the team – they are so committed and positive about their role as educators. The whole team sees their role as incredibly important, helping children establish the building blocks for a successful lifetime of learning.
Our team understands just how important your children are to you and we ensure we take our responsibilities seriously. They follow strict health and hygiene policies and procedures to ensure that your child is safe and secure within their environment. They are guided by the Staying Healthy in Childcare document when monitoring any signs of illness of children.
From the initial tour, educators start to build strong partnerships with families and encourage parent participation and engagement within the service. We also support our families by providing children with all meals within the centre/ Breakfast and dinner can be provided upon request. We hold many celebrations throughout the year where families are invited in to share meals and join in various experiences.
From the first visit, families are supported during the enrolment and orientation process. Families are encouraged to partake in ‘stay and play’ days. This provides opportunities for the educators to get to know the families and share information about the room, gather information about the child and to establish nurturing relationships with the family. Families are also supported with the enrolment process to ensure that they have the information required to complete the various steps to a formal enrolment.
We look forward to welcoming you at Possums Early Education Centre.
