Peppercorn Early Learning Centre

About Us

Kew Child Care & Daycare Near Me - Peppercorn Early Learning CentreWelcome to Peppercorn Early Learning Centre. We provide care and education for children aged from birth to six years.

The centre is open from 7:00am to 6:30pm and provides nutritious meals for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Our aim is to provide programs that cater for children’s physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs, which respects individual differences and offers creative play experiences.

Our experienced and qualified educators provided specialised programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework including a specialised Kindergarten program; aimed at preparing the children for school and beyond.

We take great pride in our centre and continually evaluate our program and policies. We are very conscious of making sure children are stimulated and challenged, and above all, that they feel loved and secure within our centre.

All the educators at Peppercorn look forward to a long and happy relationship with the children enrolled as well as their parents. We encourage parents to participate in social events and welcome feedback.

We welcome you to contact us or drop in to learn more about this great centre!

Centre Manager profile

Kristyn Holmes

How long have you been working in early education?

9 years

What is your favourite part of working at the centre?

I have been working at Peppercorn for 9 years and my favourite part would have to be the relationships made with families and children and the fantastic team of educators I get to work with every day.

What qualifications do you hold?

  • Bachelor of Early childhood Education
  • Graduate diploma in Primary Education.

What are you most passionate about?

I am passionate about providing quality care for children in an environment that is engaging and offers programs that are nurturing, respectful and supportive of individual interests and abilities.

What are you most proud of at your centre?

I am proud of the relationships that have been created with families and children and the ongoing interactions between educators and families/children.

What is your favourite inspirational quote?

“Play is our brain’s favourite way of learning” – Diane Ackerman

What inspired you to become an educator?

I have always loved children and being a part of the early childhood journey is one of the most rewarding experiences I have

What is your philosophy about educating children?

Each child is unique so should all be treated individually within a group. Every child’s voice should be heard.

I believe children should be in an environment that allows them to build on their strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to work with children and I was decided between paediatric nurse or early childhood educator

What is one of your hobbies?

I love to walk the dog and read a great book

What message would you like to tell parents considering your centre?

We are not a purpose built centre so our environments indoor and out are very home like allowing children to feel comfortable while exploring and creating relationships with educators and peers. We offer a variety of experiences and activities including music program, incursions and excursions and a mandarin class once a week.

We have a low staff turnover with most of our staff been here for at least 3-4 years if not more and this is evident through strong relationships with our families and children.
