We believe in individuality of our children and are lucky to have such a multicultural centre. Both our educators and families come from a variety of different backgrounds; this is a great opportunity for children to learn about and to learning respect for different cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities and races. We want to help the children build mutually respectful relationships of trust and empathy that exists to promote the children’s well-being and sense of belonging.
We pride ourselves on giving back to our wider community. Each year we fund raise for a range of charities. In doing so, it provides children with the opportunity to understand and contribute to the wider community.
We have a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable educators who work closely with each child to ensure they are feeling safe, happy, and are having fun, whilst learning new skills and creating new experiences.
At West Ryde ELC, we want all of our families to think of our centre as their home away from home. Educators work closely with each family to create meaningful relationships. In addition to this, the centre also hosts regular in-centre activities, such as morning teas and parent information nights that all families are invited to attend.
School Readiness Program
Our experienced and qualified educators provide programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework including a specialised School Readiness program aimed at preparing children for school and beyond.
Qualified teachers nurture our pre-schoolers and prepare them for school and beyond. We believe that on-going assessment of children’s academic and personal skills are important for building rounded picture of the children which can be used to create an individual learning plan. We plan and assess reading, writing, speaking and numeracy and the Belonging , Being and Becoming profile to assess personal and social development, literacy, numeracy, science, technology ICT and personal and social development which can then be passed on to their primary school.
We look forward to meeting you and we welcome you to pop into the centre for a guided tour at any time.
Come and experience the West Ryde ELC difference today!
Our childcare centre proudly offers a kindergarten/preschool program to ensure your child is supported for their transition to school every step of the way. With a focus on language, literacy, numeracy, social skills and more your child will become school ready.
Hi, my name is Ashlee Aria and I am the newly appointed Centre Manager here at West Ryde Early Learning Centre.
My passion from early education stemmed from growing up and seeing the impact that my family, who were also Early Years Educators, were having on the lives of the children in their care.
I have worked in the early childhood education sector for over 10 years now and hold my Diploma of Children’s Services. In my time in the Early Years Industry I have worked as an Assistant Educator, Diploma Educator, Assistant Centre Manager and now Centre Manager.
Many factors contribute to children’s learning development, environmental, relationship, culture, family, experiences. Here at West Ryde Early Learning Centre all factors are constantly evolving and enhancing the learning and development of the children.
Our service is embedded with knowledge about the learning and development of children. West Ryde ELC is a learning sanctuary, not only for children, but for families and educators too.
My personal philosophy builds on relationships, I believe in having strong relationships with your children and families and continuously working on building strong partnerships where we can learn from one another to best benefit the children in our care. Your relationship with the children and their families sets the foundation of success in their personal learning and development.
All Educators engage in positive and meaningful interactions to lead by example to provide children with effective role models and form strong bonds and relationships with the children and their families and Educators should build strong relationships with families to provide joint goals to benefit each individual child’s individual learning and development.
My Philosophy relates to child development theorist Howard Gardner and his theory of early childhood education should not be ‘one-size fits all’. Not all children are academic, but all children have the ability to learn, be successful and to teach others in their area of intelligence. As educators we need to provide learning opportunities for children that reflect their ‘intelligence’ and learning style. Knowledgeable and skilled educators should be able to assist children to transfer skills they have learn and developed into other areas.
I hope you can stop by soon for a tour.

“Our Ben, started care for the first time early this year. Having never been away from me, starting care was a huge milestone for him and he took a while to adjust emotionally. All of the staff at West Ryde Early Learning Centre were so loving and patient during his settling in process, and one staff member came up with a wonderful idea of having Ben carry a family photo with him. It worked a charm! Ben no longer kisses me goodbye – he’s too eager to get to West Ryde Early Learning Centre! We couldn’t be happier, seeing our boy go off into the world confident and secure in himself.”
“We have a had wonderful experience at West Ryde ELC. To walk in and see the teachers cuddling your child like their own, makes you realise how much they do care. All the teachers seem to know all the children – no matter what room they are in, as well know all the parents. The activities the kids do seem great, the staff are approachable, and nothing seems to be too much of a problem – Including asking the teachers, very late one afternoon to help my child make a birthday card for his dad.”
I have had a wonderful experience with West Ryde ELC over the last eight months of having my son there. I chose West Ryde ELC over two other centres, both of which are walking distance from home. The reason was simply that West Ryde ELC gave me a much better feeling the first time I walked into the centre that my child will be looked after the way I think is best for him. I found the carers very kind and gentle. They ensured that if my son was crying, he was picked up and cuddled or distracted with toys and activities. The director.. is very approachable and warm. She truly encourages the open-door policy of the centre and that makes me so comfortable walking in any time of the day to pick up my son early or just see how he is going. The structure of the centre is excellent and allows parents to peep in through the window to see the little ones, without actually disturbing them. The carers are from different backgrounds which provide a good mix of cultures, languages and attitudes towards child care into the room. The activities in the centre are really nice and we had pleasant surprises like a card and present for Daddy on Father’s Day and a hat with stars and feathers for Melbourne Cup! All those go into my scrapbook for baby! I am now expecting my second baby and I already have him registered at West Ryde ELC.”
“After searching the area thoroughly, my husband and I were extremely impressed with the size and set up of West Ryde ELC. The carers are extremely attentive and we rest easy knowing that our daughter eats well while she is here (she is not a fan of vegies at home – but we know she eats them here. She always has a story to tell or craft to put on the fridge when she comes home and looks forward to seeing her friends and carers every morning. Highly recommended.”
