Zoe Hurn

Centre Manager - Morphett Vale Early Learning Centre

"I absolutely love my job and have wanted a career in early education since I was much younger."

I began my early childhood education and care career in 2002 and started working at  Morphett Vale Early Learning Centre in July 2021.

I have a bachelor's degree with honours in the UK, equivalent to a diploma in Australia.

I absolutely love my job and have wanted a career in early education since I was much younger. I have worked from a trainee to a centre manager and taken on various roles throughout this process. I really enjoy the impact I make on children and their families. As a centre manager, I thrive on creating passion in educators to make a difference to our future generations.

Every child is different but should be provided with the same opportunities to progress and thrive.  Adaptation on the care I give depends on the individual child.

Children need to be the driver of their own learning and education, with educators supporting and scaffolding their learning and using the environment as a third teacher in supporting their learning and development.

Although families are the primary carers and educators, childcare provides an opportunity to extend on their personal experiences and build a wider learning network.

The team at Morphett Vale is fantastic, and I am very lucky to have such a wonderful team of educators who are passionate about their roles and job.

I have made connections with my families through an open door policy, communicating with them on a regular basis and promoting their importance in regard to their children.
