See how we’re inspiring learning for life at Manchester Road Early Learning Centre. Our long day care and early education centre provides child care in Mooroolbark that is perfect for families living or commuting through nearby suburbs Chirnside Park, Croydon, Kilsyth, Lilydale, Montrose, and Mount Evelyn. Our centre is conveniently located in the heart of Mooroolbark just down the road from Mooroolbark Library, Mooroolbark Train Station and Hookey Park.
Our location stems many great adventures, allowing us to form and establish strong community connections through our excursions taken within our immediate community. We have established strong connections with our local cafes (Pump Café, Rusty Owl and McDonalds), through our engagement with Lids for Kids. We collect resources that the service distributes to agencies that upcycle for a cause, promoting and sharing our commitment to reducing waste products with families and the local community.
As soon as you walk into our Mooroolbark child care centre, you’ll be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to learn and explore. Our adventure-filled playgrounds feature sandpits, natural gardens, cubby houses and play equipment to engage all the senses.
We ensure children are provided time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
We have everything covered here at our Mooroolbark child care centre, so you won’t need to worry about preparing lunch or snacks. Healthy meals are made daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.
No two days are the same at our Mooroolbark child care centre with new experiences happening every day. Your child will have access to engaging specialised programs including a wood working and story time program. These fun and engaging programs enhance the daily program.
Educators and children venture out on excursions to our Mooroolbark local community visiting Hookey Park, Mooroolbark Library, the Post Office, Coles and even gone as far as catching a local bus to Chirnside Park Shopping Centre to engage in a ‘Discovery Tour’ at Woolworths.. We welcome special guests and community members to the centre based on the children's interests. These visits happen throughout the year and include responsible pet ownership, animal encounters, story time, emergency services visits and many more.
We regularly visit our local Country Fire Authority (CFA), where the amazing team invite us into their space to learn and discover all the equipment utilized by the Mooroolbark firefighters. The Kindergarten children have multiple excursions planned throughout the year, based on the contributions from the children and their ideas explored, Myuna Farm, Healesville Sanctuary and Melbourne Zoo are just a couple of our favourite excursions so far.
Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.
