As soon as you walk through the doors of our Smithfield child care centre, you’ll be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to explore and learn. Our adventure-filled playgrounds feature gardens, sandpits, cubby houses, and play equipment to engage all the senses. Children are provided with time and space for uninterrupted play to venture in the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
There is no need for you to worry about preparing lunch or snacks for your child. Healthy, freshly made meals and snacks are created daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.
No two days at our Smithfield child care centre are the same with so many opportunities to learn and explore. Children and educators explore our local community for excursions visiting the nearby aged care centre and Smithfield Fire Station. We welcome special guests and community members to the centre based on the children's interests. These neighbourhood connections develop a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.
