Possums Early Education Centre

We are temporarily closed

The quality of our learning environments is of the highest importance to us. Possums Early Learning Centre has been impacted by water damage due to the floods. We are temporarily closed as we undergo centre improvements. We will continue to provide regular updates on the progress of works during this period and further information prior to re-opening to all current and prospective/enrolled families.

We have a number of G8 Education centres nearby with places available for your children to attend while the works to improve our centre take place.

If you have any questions, give our Family Support Team a call on 1800 413 885.

Inspiring learning for life at Possums Early Education Centre. Our early learning and long day child care centre is perfect for families living or commuting through or nearby South Lismore, Casino, East Lismore, Goonellabah and Lismore. Our centre is located in a quiet suburb and backs onto a beautiful parkland.

As you open the door to our centre, you will be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to explore and learn. Spacious and natural outdoor areas including sandpits, slides, cubby houses, swings and a vegetable garden. Featuring natural elements in addition to our picturesque parkland setting, it truly makes our centre a beautiful and calm learning environment. Children are provided uninterrupted time and space to explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.

Our service has strong community connections with local schools and services. We have developed a Reconciliation Action Plan along with a Sustainability program that the educators use to guide curriculum decisions.

When it’s time to come inside our indoor areas encourage exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our skilled educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as scientists, artists, architects, storytellers and designers.

The centre kitchen is at the heart of everything we do. Enjoy the smell of freshly cooked food as you enter our centre. There is no need to pack your child lunch as nutritious meals and snacks created daily by our qualified in-house cook catering for all dietary requirements.

Our educators and children explore our local community with excursions to nearby schools, parks and playgrounds. We regularly present educational children’s shows and welcome special guests including eye specialists s who provide yearly eye tests for the preschool age children. We also have strong connections within our community and participate in yearly events such as the Lismore Lantern Parades and Local Show.

As members of our Early Learning Services community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years. Our Family Support Team are happy to chat through your child care needs.
