Centre Manager -  Early Learning Services Forestville

“My time in early education has always had a strong community focus – it takes a village to raise a child.”

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2003 and started working at Forestville Early Learning Centre in 2016. I hold a Diploma in Children’s Services. My background is in family day care and Forest Schools in the UK.

My time in early education has always had a strong community focus “it takes a village to raise a child”.

I know from having my own three children how important a supportive community is to the wellbeing of a family. I wanted to work in the community from a young age by working in early education. I used to point out our local preschools and say, “I’m going to work there” It was a beautiful bright building covered in murals, it always seemed full of joy. I began my career in family day care when my children were young.  I also ran local support groups for families and other family day care workers. I then moved onto the Forest philosophy of preschool which is primarily outdoor nature play based education. I really love building relationships with families by creating a supportive and consistent environment.

There are many social and emotional benefits to early education as well as academic. Children’s ideas and interests lead the program at Forestville Early Learning Centre. Children develop their curiosity, problem-solving, confidence and resilience at our centre, and we carefully plan play-based learning experiences around their interests and learning goals. Over time, you will see your child develop abilities such as language, motor movement, memory, concentration and social relationships all by partaking in these experiences - it's a truly incredible journey to witness!

Our team are all part of the Forestville community living locally in the area. We have a consistent team who have grown with the centre as they pursue their professional development.

Our team understands just how important your children are to you and we ensure we take our responsibilities seriously. We uphold the rights of children consistent with the UN convention of the rights of the child. Early Learning Services has extensive policy and procedures in place to assist our team in protecting children in our care. You can read more about our commitment to safety here.

We support our families along the entire early learning journey by encouraging several stay and play sessions for you and your child to really get to know the educators and children at the centre before your first day. Also, we offer parents snacks and coffee during the morning drop off to save you time and we regularly hold celebrations to bring our families together as a local community.

Our team are always on hand to talk you through the enrolment process and answer any Child Care Subsidy questions you have as well as demonstrate how to use our all in one family app - Xplor

We welcome you to Forestville Early Learning Centre
