Childcare and kindergarten in Epping, VIC

Rose Garden Epping Early Learning Centre offers long day care and a kindergarten program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Epping, Craigieburn, Mernda and Wollert.

Spacious outdoor environments

Children have plenty of space to play outdoors, with shady trees, bike tracks, a climbing fort and a vegetable garden in the kinder yard. These outdoor areas give children room to move, explore and enjoy active play in a natural setting.

Upgraded indoor learning spaces

Our upgraded indoor spaces include resources and play areas tailored to children’s interests. The rooms are set up to support play-based learning, giving children opportunities to create, investigate, build friendships and follow their ideas.

Longstanding educator team

Our longstanding educators create a caring and familiar environment for children and families. Their consistency helps children feel settled, known and supported as they move through their early learning years.

Individual Learning Plans

Individual Learning Plans are developed in partnership with families, reflecting each child’s strengths, interests and developmental goals. Educators use these plans to guide meaningful learning experiences.

Government-approved Kindergarten program

Our Government-approved Kindergarten program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Children practise routines, build friendships and develop the skills they need to feel more confident about starting school.

Local walks and real-world learning

Children take part in community walks through local parks and gardens, as well as educational incursions and excursions. These experiences help children explore their community and connect learning with the world around them.

Sports and dancing programs

Older children enjoy weekly Sports 4 Kinder and Magical Days Kindy Dancing programs as part of the daily fee. These activities give children more ways to move, listen, follow instructions and build confidence with their peers.

Fresh meals and family updates

Fresh meals and snacks are prepared daily to help children stay nourished and ready for their day. Families can also keep up with their child’s routines, learning and centre experiences through regular photos and updates in our family app.

“Every child is unique and inquisitive, requiring tailored teaching methods to suit their individual needs and interests.”

I have been working in early learning since 2004 and joined Rose Garden Epping in 2023. Watching children grow and learn has always been a joy for me. The most important lesson I’ve learned in this sector is that every child is unique and inquisitive, requiring tailored teaching methods to suit their individual needs and interests. I always give children the time to respond and react in their own way.

At our dedicated early childhood centre, children develop social skills in a play-based environment, learn to think independently, and resolve challenges. The positive relationships they build with our caring educators and peers are invaluable during the crucial first five years. Our diverse team of educators brings experience and passion to the centre daily, ensuring all children feel safe and confident while teaching them life skills that will last a lifetime.

I support all families by introducing myself and maintaining an open-door policy, welcoming them to call or visit anytime. I encourage families to discuss any concerns, big or small, assuring them that their child is a valued part of our centre family.

I look forward to welcoming your family to our Epping early learning centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Epping, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our centre promotes sustainability through our well-maintained vegetable garden and a comprehensive recycling program for paper products implemented in all rooms. These initiatives not only encourage children to engage with eco-friendly practices but also instil a deep sense of environmental responsibility and awareness.

Community engagement

Our excursions offer children valuable real-world learning experiences beyond the classroom, such as exploring parks or visiting supermarkets, fostering curiosity and practical life skills. We also host community incursions, bringing dentists, ambulance officers, and firefighters into our centre and providing children firsthand insight into their vital roles in keeping the community safe and healthy.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Exploration and problem solving

Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Age-appropriate early learning

We provide learning experiences tailored to each stage of your child’s development. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and designed to support children’s wellbeing, confidence and growing independence.

Her journey and our experience with the centre has been amazing from day 1. The educators and management have been very supportive in making sure they cater to the needs of our little one. At Rose Garden, every child is treated with utmost care and given individual attention. Even though it is a bit of a drive from our place, we never thought of changing and moving to another centre, since we have been very satisfied and assured that our daughter is in good hands when she is at Rose Garden 😊. Thanks to the staff for being so amazing and helpful

During the time Jamie was the manager, my child experienced a level of care that left lasting emotional stress. One of the most troubling aspects was that staff, including Jamie, attempted to diagnose my son with anxiety—something that should only be done by qualified medical professionals. This was completely inappropriate and caused us significant concern. Since attending the centre, my child has continued to show signs of stress related to that time. As a parent, it’s heartbreaking to see. I would never recommend this centre to any family looking for a supportive and professional childcare environment. Our experience was deeply upsetting, and I hope no other child or parent has to go through what we did.

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Early Learning Services uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Early Learning Services is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
