Childcare and kindergarten in Sunshine West, VIC

Rose Garden Sunshine Early Learning Centre offers long day care and a kindergarten program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Sunshine West, Albion, Caroline Springs, Deer Park and Sunshine.

Age-appropriate outdoor play

Children can play across three outdoor yards designed for different ages and stages. With sandpits, a bike track, a cubby house and gardens, each space gives children room to move, explore and enjoy outdoor play in a way that suits their development.

Inspiring indoor resources

Indoors, children learn and play with age-appropriate resources and multicultural play areas. The rooms are set up to reflect children’s interests and give them different ways to explore, create and play with others.

Longstanding, multicultural team

Our diverse educator team brings warmth, consistency and cultural understanding to the centre. Some team members have been with us for 17 years, helping children and families build strong, familiar relationships over time.

Individual Learning Plans

Individual Learning Plans are developed in partnership with families, reflecting each child’s strengths, interests and developmental goals. Educators use these plans to guide everyday learning and create experiences that feel relevant to each child.

Government-approved Kindergarten program

Our Government-approved Kindergarten program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. The program helps children practise routines, make friends and build skills that support a confident start to school.

Community walks and music program

Children take part in regular community walks, helping them learn more about the local area. A music program is also offered every Wednesday, giving children time to enjoy rhythm, movement, listening and group participation.

Celebrations shaped by families

Family input is highly valued when developing our yearly events calendar. This helps our celebrations reflect the cultures and traditions within our centre community, creating a stronger sense of belonging for children and families.

Fresh meals and family updates

Fresh meals and snacks are prepared daily to support children’s nutrition and wellbeing. Families can also stay connected through our family app, with regular photos and updates about their child’s routines, learning and centre experiences.

  • Advanced Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
“I believe strong, secure relationships are the foundation for learning, as children who feel safe and respected are more confident to explore, take risks, and engage in meaningful experiences.”

I have been working in early childhood education since 2006 and have been part of the centre since 2006–2013, returning again in 2018. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Education and have experience across a range of roles, including Assistant Educator, Room Leader, Assistant Centre Manager, Centre Manager, and Family Day Care Field Officer.

What I love most about this field is the genuine impact we have each day. Watching children grow in confidence, develop new skills, and express their unique personalities is incredibly rewarding. I have learned that every child is unique, capable, and learns in their own way and at their own pace. Children are naturally curious and bring their own knowledge, interests, and cultural backgrounds into their learning. I believe strong, secure relationships are the foundation for learning, as children who feel safe and respected are more confident to explore, take risks, and engage in meaningful experiences.

When speaking with families, I explain that early childhood education and care complements what children learn at home. In a centre environment, children develop social skills, build friendships, and learn to work and play with others. Through play-based programs, they also build confidence, independence, and communication skills that support their overall development.

Our team is made up of passionate and dedicated educators who genuinely care about the children and families we support. With diverse backgrounds and a range of skills and experiences, we work together to create an inclusive and enriching learning environment.

Building strong relationships with families is at the heart of what I do. I take the time to get to know each family, respect their values and cultures, and work in partnership with them. By listening with empathy and maintaining open communication, I aim to ensure every family feels supported and connected to our centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Sunshine West, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Children develop respect for the environment through gardening, recycling and nature-based learning. Educators also introduce the interconnected aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic, through concepts like fairness, sharing and community.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Community engagement

We often have visits from local community services in Sunshine West to help familiarise the children with their local community, and we go out on adventures in our local area to teach the children about their local environment.

Language and early literacy

Children develop early literacy through storytelling, books, songs and meaningful conversations. Educators support children to explore language in many forms, including speaking, listening, viewing, drawing and writing, while building confidence communicating with others.

Our daughter spent 3 weeks at this centre before we went overseas. She had a great time. Everone at the centre was lovely and caring. It Really freed us from taking care of our daughter 24/7 so we could take some much needed break.

My child attends here and is always so happy to come each morning! They run up to their educator in the morning and get a big hug. They show they care and pay attention to each child.

See more Rose Garden hasn't been our first daycare centre, so I'm reviewing with comparative experience in mind, but my gosh we are just beyond happy with Rose Garden! Our 3yo and now 1yo both attend the centre, and the staff are incredible. They are happy, welcoming, encouraging, and warm. The rooms are clean. There are always new activities and relevant curriculum shared with the kids in age appropriate ways. We're kept well informed with daily photos and written updates in the app, and the staff are quick to phone if there's anything worth mentioning. We've watched our 3yo absolutely thrive with the care given at Rose Garden, and we're so happy for our 1yo to start early this year. It's just wonderful, highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Early Learning Services uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Early Learning Services is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
