Childcare and preschool in Macquarie Park, NSW

North Ryde Early Learning Centre offers long day care and a preschool program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Macquarie Park, Epping, North Ryde, Ryde and Schofields in Sydney.

Spacious outdoor environments

Children have plenty of space to play outdoors, with two sandpits, built-in slides, a two-level play area, trampoline, vegetable gardens, cubby house, climbing frames, drinking fountain and a spacious bike-riding area. The indoor-outdoor program also gives children choice in where they play and learn throughout the day.

Purpose-built indoor spaces

Our indoor environments include interactive whiteboards, natural resources and spaces for quiet downtime. Separate nappy change areas help support children’s care routines throughout the day. Our nursery children also have their own cot rooms.

Long-standing, familiar team

Most of our educators have been with the centre for around 10 years, giving children and families the comfort of familiar faces. This consistency helps educators build strong relationships and understand each child’s routines, interests and needs.

Individual Learning Plans

Individual Learning Plans are developed in partnership with families, reflecting each child’s strengths, interests and developmental goals. Educators use these plans to guide learning experiences that feel relevant to each child.

Government-approved Preschool program

Our Government-approved Preschool program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. The program helps children practise routines, build friendships and feel more prepared for the move to school.

Happy Feet fitness program

Children take part in the Happy Feet children’s fitness program, adding movement, music and fun to their week. It gives children another way to build coordination, confidence and active habits.

Healthy meals prepared daily

Fresh meals and snacks are prepared daily to help children stay nourished and ready for their day. Menus include balanced options throughout the day and cater for allergies and individual dietary requirements.

Updates through our family app

Families can keep up with their child’s day through photos and updates in our family app. This includes routines, learning moments, centre activities and the experiences children are enjoying throughout the week.

“I believe in children’s capabilities as learners and the vital role teachers play in supporting their journey.”

My career in early childhood education and care began in 2007, and I joined North Ryde Early Learning Centre (Macquarie Park) in 2012. I cherish the opportunity to support children’s growth and development during their first five years. I also value the meaningful relationships I have built with children and families over the years.

I believe in children’s capabilities as learners and the vital role teachers play in supporting their journey. Partnerships with families are crucial, as parents are the child’s first teachers, and working together ensures the best outcomes for each child. Our goal is to lay a strong foundation for each child’s life journey, fostering a positive learning environment that leads to successful outcomes in school. Our Macquarie Park early learning centre boasts dedicated, trained educators who tailor plans for each child’s growth. We follow rigorous practices to maintain a safe environment, and all educators are well-versed in mandatory child protection requirements.

We provide a parent room for breastfeeding mothers, a coffee machine in the foyer, and an open-door policy for family involvement. Our team supports families through regular communication and helps them access additional professional assistance if needed. We maintain constant communication during drop-off and pick-up times, as well as through phone, email, and our family app. These relationships are strengthened through our centre events, allowing us to get to know our families better.

I look forward to welcoming you to North Ryde Early Learning Centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Macquarie Park, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

We have a comprehensive sustainability plan that offers children various opportunities to engage, including helping with the vegetable garden, reusing water, using recyclable materials for art, and participating in the Return and Earn bottle program.

Community engagement

We welcome special community guests to the centre, such as emergency services personnel, dentists, and community elders. Our children and educators also enjoy excursions to local cafes, schools, libraries, and other community spots.

Music and movement

Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

In the nursery room, our main goal is to build trusting relationships where children feel safe and secure. See more My son has been attending this centre since he was a baby and now he is almost 3. He thoroughly enjoys being here. The educators are caring , approachable and very devoted have been working there a long time. Even the centre manager Sue Ellen responds instantly to any of the requests or queries made. The consistency of educators makes it so comfortable for us as a parent and our child. The outdoor play area is vast and has slides and many other equipments and is amazingly set up each day. The support my child is getting is really appreciable and cannot recommend this centre highly enough.

See more From the moment I first stepped into this childcare centre, I knew – this was the place. The hallways echoed with the joyful laughter of children, and the classrooms buzzed with little figures full of energy. Every teacher knelt down to speak to the children at eye level, their eyes shining with warmth, and the children responded with smiles as bright as flowers blooming in the sun. That welcoming atmosphere instantly eased my nervousness as a first-time mother. I feel incredibly fortunate that time has gently affirmed my choice. Over just two months, my son’s growth here has been nothing short of miraculous. From clinging to my clothes in tears at first, to now greeting me at pickup with eyes full of excitement and security—his journey has been a testament to the nurturing environment. I know deep down that all of this stems from the teachers’ professionalism and love. With patience, they eased his separation anxiety; with creativity, they ignited his curiosity; and with countless hugs and words of encouragement, they made this place his second home. Every day on our way back, as he babbles excitedly or proudly shows me his paint-stained hands, I silently rejoice: *This must be what early education is meant to be.* To all the dedicated teachers—thank you. What you sow is not just knowledge, but a child’s first love and trust in the world.

As a first time mum, and having a negative experience elsewhere, I was so nervous about putting my LO into daycare at 8 months. I do not regret a thing and it has completely changed my sons life. He is the happiest he has ever been, and his development physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially has sky-rocketed since commencing here. This is the only place that allows me to go to work and and not even have to give my sons day a 2nd thought, because I know he is getting the best care out there. The daily updates are so phenomenal, and the weekly learning tables provided are excellent. I received a 2 month check in which had all of his milestones and goals for the next 6 months written and thought out thoroughly. The staff truly care about supporting the development of the child which i have not seen elsewhere. I really couldn't say a bad word about the place. They saved my sanity in going back to work and I couldn't be more thankful. Shout out to Educator Nita in the nursery who is beyond phenomenal and has been the best thing that happened to my son.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Early Learning Services uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Early Learning Services is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
