Forestville Early Learning Centre

Inspiring learning for life at Forestville Early Learning Centre. Our early learning and long day care centre is nestled in the heart of Forestville, ideally located for families living or commuting through Forestville or nearby suburbs Frenchs Forest, Killarney Heights and Belrose.

When stepping into our homely child care centre, you will experience a sanctuary where children are inspired to explore and grow. Our spacious outdoor areas include sandpits, slides, a bike track. We have a vegetable garden which encourages the children to discover their environment and embrace the outdoors. Children are encouraged to explore the outdoor areas to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence.

Our centre has pet guinea pigs, named Fred and George which the children adore. They regularly visit the different rooms and go home with the children for the weekend giving them an opportunity to take care of them.

Our indoor spaces encourage exploration and discovery, engaging resources and learning experiences. Children marvel, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists and designers.

We provide healthy meals created daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements including halal. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices. Other opportunities include educators encouraging children to assist in selecting edible plants from our vegetable garden which are used in many of our meals.

No two days are the same at our Forestville centre. A schedule of alternating specialised programs including music, yoga, sports and Mandarin classes are regularly available to your child. Swimming is also available at an additional fee. These programs enhance the daily program

Throughout the year, educators and children venture out on excursions to our local community visiting the library, park, bush walks and the café for morning tea. We regularly present educational children’s shows and welcome special guests to the centre including a speech therapist and an eye specialist to expand on the children’s learning. Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.

We also offer an engaging sustainability program teaching the children a sense of responsibility and connection to their world. Children learn about sustainability practices through our vegetable garden while harvesting food, weeding, watering, and nurturing the environment as well as through our worm farm which instils a sense of environmental belonging within the children.
