“We prioritise positive interactions and attentive listening to meet each child’s individual needs.”

My career in early childhood education began in 1996, and I joined St Albans Main Road East Early Learning Centre in 2010. From a young age, I was passionate about interacting with children. This passion inspired me to pursue a career in early education and childcare. As the Centre Manager, I am dedicated and passionate about my role. I find it rewarding to build positive relationships with families, children, and my team.

Recognising that all children are unique with different needs, we strive to provide the best quality care. Our approach fosters a love of learning in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. We prioritise positive interactions and attentive listening to meet each child’s individual needs.

Our team is dedicated to creating a home away from home for our families and children. We celebrate diversity, with many educators speaking various languages. We build positive relationships with families to ensure everyone feels welcome at our centre. We adhere to policies and procedures to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all team members, children, and families.

We guide new families through the enrolment process, providing support and assistance. We ensure families understand the requirements, including the enrolment form, activity test, and necessary documentation such as birth certificates and immunisation summaries.

The team at St Albans Main Road East Early Learning Centre looks forward to meeting your family and starting this exciting journey together.

Early Childhood Teacher (4-year-old Kinder)

  • Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood)
“I love seeing the spark of curiosity in their eyes and supporting them as they explore, create, and discover the world around them.”

I’m passionate about creating meaningful and engaging learning experiences for young children. Working with children has always been something I’ve felt deeply committed to. I believe in the power of early education to shape a child’s future, and I feel privileged to play a role in that journey. What inspires me most is the opportunity to truly listen to children—their thoughts, ideas, and perspectives—and use that understanding to build strong, respectful relationships.

I take a child-centred approach in my teaching, which means I follow the interests and strengths of each child to guide our learning together. This approach helps children feel valued and confident, and gives them a sense of ownership over their learning. I love seeing the spark of curiosity in their eyes and supporting them as they explore, create, and discover the world around them.

I look forward to working closely with you and your child throughout their kinder year. I’m excited about the milestones we’ll reach together as a class, and even more so about the individual growth each child will achieve. It’s going to be a joyful, rewarding journey.

Early Childhood Teacher (3-year-old Kinder)

  • Master of Teaching
“I believe the first step in a child’s learning journey is feeling a strong sense of belonging and connection—to the environment, the educators, and their peers. “

I hold a Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) with a specialisation in Inclusion from Deakin University, and I am passionate about supporting young children through these important early years of learning.

My teaching philosophy centres around the holistic development of each child. I believe the first step in a child’s learning journey is feeling a strong sense of belonging and connection—to the environment, the educators, and their peers. When children feel safe, supported, and valued, they are more open to exploring, learning, and growing.

In our classroom, we view the environment as the children’s first teacher. We intentionally design spaces that encourage curiosity, creativity, and self-discovery. Through play-based experiences and self-exploration, children begin to understand the world around them, build relationships, and develop confidence in their abilities.

I look forward to working in partnership with you and your child as we navigate this exciting learning journey together.

Our St Albans Kindergarten’s Philosophy

We believe that every child is an active participant in their learning journey. Our curriculum is built on the principles of the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). Children are given opportunities to make decisions, explore their interests, and develop socially, emotionally, and intellectually through a hands-on, inclusive learning program. We actively involve families in our learning community and believe that strong relationships with families and caregivers help children succeed.

Our kindergarten learning goals

At our kindergarten in St Albans, children’s learning goals align with the Early Years Learning Framework and are tailored to each age group. Below are four key areas of development we focus on, represented in a format that makes it easy for families to understand how we support your child’s growth:

Social and emotional development

We help children build strong relationships, develop empathy, and learn to regulate their emotions through shared group experiences and mindfulness practices.

Language and literacy

Through storytelling, singing, and conversations, children develop vocabulary, listening, and early reading and writing skills to support school readiness.

Independence and self-help skills

From dressing and toileting to managing belongings and making choices, children build confidence in their abilities to care for themselves and navigate daily routines.

Creative thinking and problem solving

We nurture children’s natural curiosity and cognitive growth with hands-on learning, early numeracy concepts, puzzles, games, and investigations that encourage creative thinking.

  • Profession sharing – Families are invited to share insights about their careers and interests to support real-world connections

Local school partnerships

Our strong relationships with nearby schools support smooth transitions to primary school. We collaborate with St Albans Meadows Primary School and St Albans Heights Primary School in these areas:

  • Our educators prepare detailed transition statements to support each child’s move to school.
  • Assist with additional documentation and share insights into each child’s development with future educators.
  • Arrange Term 4 transition visits so children can explore school environments, meet teachers, and become familiar with classroom routines.

We also host:

  • Kindergarten information evenings – Events where local school representatives are invited to connect with families. These sessions provide opportunities for families to ask questions, meet staff, and gain a deeper understanding of how our kindergarten program prepares children for their next step into formal education.

Frequently asked questions

In Australia, sessional kindergartens or preschools are usually operated by local government, religious organisations, schools, private organisations or the community. They usually run during school term and school hours, meaning the program runs for 40 weeks per year, with most sessions finishing up around 2 pm, over 2-3 days per week.

The kindergarten or preschool program is also offered in long day care centres. Most long day care centres are open from 7:00 AM. to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday with flexible drop-off/pick-up times to better accommodate busy working families. Long day care centres run 52 weeks per year, meaning your child would not miss out on valuable learning opportunities during school holidays.

Nutritional meals and snacks are covered in long day care centres, so you don’t have to worry about packing lunches.

Child Care Subsidy still applies when your child attends the kindergarten or preschool programs offered in long day care services. Depending on your state or territory, different funding options can be combined with your Child Care Subsidy savings, making kindergarten or preschool more affordable for your family.

Essentially, there is no difference between the curriculums adopted by long day care and sessional kindergarten or preschool providers. They are both run by qualified early childhood teachers, and they all align with Early Years Learning Framework, focusing on supporting individual children’s development, interests and needs through play-based and intentional learning experiences.

If your child is already settled at a long day care centre, they have the opportunity to stay in a familiar environment, transitioning together with their friends.

To receive the Best Start, Best Life Kinder subsidy, your child needs to turn 4 years on or before 30th April 2024 and enrolled in a funded Kindergarten program in 2024. The 7.5 hours free kinder is delivered during our long day care hours at our centres. The VIC Government is subsidising 7.5 hours of your long day care Kinder day, therefore there will be a reduced out of pocket cost on these days.

All our kindergarten programs run every day of the week. This means families have the flexibility for their child/ren to receive the highest quality learning experiences on days that best support them.

The benefit of attending a G8 Education long day care centre is our enhanced learning program combines play-based long daycare programming plus the government approved Best Start, Best Life Kindergarten program. Our program runs 5 days a week for 52 weeks of the year. During the period where the government funded kindergarten does not apply, your CCS will reduce your out of pocket expense.

The Victorian Government will subsidise 15 hours per week over, 600 hours per year which can be applied over 52 weeks (minimum 2 days per week). As a long day care provider, we offer a 5 day per week program and your child can attend more than 2 days per week. If you are eligible for the Childcare Subsidy (CCS), the CCS will apply on these additional days and reduce your out-of-pocket costs. Attending 2 days or more supports your child’s learning, development and wellbeing to experience a successful school transition as a more confident and engaged learner.

Attending Kindergarten at G8 Education centres means your child will benefit from our enhanced learning program that combines play-based long daycare with the VIC Government funded Kindergarten.

Busy families will be reassured with year-round care that develops holistic school readiness. More than numeracy and literacy, our program fosters emotional and social development and resilience and self-regulation for healthy bodies and minds.

No, you can only access funding at one centre for 15 hours a week, which can be applied over 52 weeks.

This is an additional subsidy from the Victorian Government that will apply to a portion of your fees after the Childcare Subsidy is applied. The percentage of CCS your family is entitled to for non-funded Kindergarten program hours will not change.

We have good news for families who are not eligible for CCS.

The VIC Government will subsidise the 15 hours per week of free Kindergarten, which can be applied across 52 weeks. Outside of these subsidised hours, full fees will be applied.

All our kindergarten programs follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), a national learning framework for Australia. These programs are informed by qualified and passionate Early Childhood Educators and Teachers. Our Curriculum accommodates each individual child’s learning, development, and well-being.
